This is a wonderful opportunity for lovers of the Farr
SAKES is a 36' Fibreglass Farr 1104 built in 1977 by Compass Yachts. Whilst previously been used in the Sydney -Hobart Yacht Race, she has served as a liveaboard and cruising vessel for the past two owners since 1994. She is a great weekend getaway boat and is currently berthed at Townsville.
This lovely well kept and comfortable vessel currently has the capacity to sleep 7 with twin bunking in the V berth, the starboard quarter and main lounge. The port quarter has been modified to house a 12V Eutectic freezer, which has been running mostly off solar ( 2 x 130W panels). Together with an inbuilt fridge/freezer in the galley, there is ample refridgeration capacity.
The beauty of this boat is seen immediately with the lovely teak cockpit, which has an optional cover and modified cutaway stern that increases the cockpit size. The teak has been continued down in the cabins, saloon and galley and looks warm and inviting. The galley also consists of a stainless steel sink with a 12V powered tap water, a 2- burner metho stove and plenty of cupboard space. The comforts continue with a 12V toilet and stainless steel wash basin in the forward area. Beneath the port and starboard lounges are 2 water tanks giving a capacity of approx 200 litres. There is plenty of cabin lighting and an easy to use switchboard. New headlining.
On the water Sakes handles beautifully and is regularly sailed 2-up by the current owners. She is also powered by a 20hp Bukh inboard diesel engine and is fitted with a 60l fuel tank and a new diesel filter. This engine is extremely reliable and powers up to 6 knots. She carries a plough anchor and chain and holds without problems even in a strong current. Recently fitted with a new solar battery charger, along with the 2 solar panels, whilst away from the marina she is powered by 3 x 100ah AGM batteries dedicated to ensure that the engine starts reliably. Very self sufficient.
Also fitted with a SEIWA - sounder and GPS, mounted compasses on deck; Raymarine VHF radio, navigation lights, new and in date lifejackets, a life buoy and flares. Comes with tools and spare parts
Tender and motor included.
Hardstand in October 2019 - antifouled etc
Well loved and very well maintained by the current and previous owners, this vessel is genuinely in a very nice condition.
